The Centre combines learning and knowledge in action to enhance services for vulnerable children and families in Victoria. We actively campaign guided by four strategic priorities – voice, innovation, sustainability, and advice.
We regularly engage in the public debate through the media, and advocate for child and family services during election campaigns, budget processes and by participating and fostering member engagement in major public inquiries.
The Centre also runs ongoing programs on key areas in State care such as ChildFIRST, home-based and out-of-home care, sector information systems and education, including a scholarship program for young people leaving care.
Complementing our programs, we also carry out a range of discrete projects related to the sector and its needs. Among these are, for example, projects supporting quality improvement, occupational health and safety, and sharing innovative practice.
Our campaigns, programs and projects often include related training opportunities and events.
