On 31 January 2011, the Premier of Victoria announced the Protecting Victoria's Vulnerable Children Inquiry to reduce the incidence of abuse and neglect in Victoria, with a focus on child protection, State care, and child and family services.

As the peak body for child and family services in Victoria, the Centre is playing a key role in the sector’s response to the Inquiry, making written and verbal submissions on issues within the terms of reference, supporting sector participation, and engaging in the public debate through the media.

The Inquiry was to report in November 2011, but this has now been extended to 27 January 2012, with the report to be tabled in Parliament on the resumption of Parliament in February 2012.

To support communication with the sector, the Centre has launched an Inquiry blog at Submissions to this and other inquiries and reviews are also available on our Submissions page.
