Sector Development Forums

Providing an opportunity to raise, discuss and progress systemic, strategic and long-term issues remains fundamental to the Centre’s vision for a sustainable child and family services sector.

For that reason, the Centre convenes a range of forums for professional workers, concentrating on specific fields of work.

The purposes of convening forums for members are to bring together representatives from member organisation, government and academia to:

  • Convey information to members about developments in the environment that will affect their work;
  • Gather input into the implementation process to ensure that new programs are effective;
  • Contribute to the design of research and evaluation and assist identify the conclusions that arise from results;
  • Identify implications for policy that arise from practice experience
  • Ensure that the concerns, experience and accumulated practice knowledge are incorporated  into all aspects of the policy process;
  • Share and promote exemplary practice.
