RCLDS Reference Group
In its role delivering the Residential Care Learning and Development Strategy (RCLDS), the Centre is advised and assisted by the RCLDS Reference Group consisting of experienced, senior representatives of residential care service providers throughout Victoria.
The current reference group was formed following the Centre's participation in extensive consultation with the sector on how best to utilise resources for training in residential care. The consultation led to a commitment by the CEOs of all the major residential care providers in Victoria to pool training funds to achieve economies of scale in the provision of training for residential care.
The reference group:
- Is highly collaborative and committed
- Understands the sector and its needs
- Has the capacity to manage significant diversity in organisational approaches
- Is actively involved in activities such as learning materials development, CSTP review, and conference presentations.
Since taking responsibility for RCLDS in 2005, the Centre has continued to identify areas of expertise within the sector to provide training more effectively, flexibly and with a sense of ownership amongst the sector.
Together, RCLDS and the RCLDS Reference Group offer an exciting opportunity for residential care workers, supervisors, CSO managers and DHS to build the capacity of residential care workers, and to celebrate their positive contribution to the lives of young people.
