AGM brings new Board for Centre

Connections UnitingCare CEO Angela Forbes was elevated from Treasurer to be elected unopposed as President at last Wednesday's Annual General Meeting of the Centre for Excellence in Child and Family Welfare at the William Angliss College in Melbourne.
Also unopposed was Anglicare Victoria CEO, Paul McDonald, who was elected to one of two Vice President positions filled at the meeting. The second Vice President position will be considered at the Centre's next Board meeting on 28 November.
Ordinary members elected were Mackillop CEO, Micaela Cronin, Child and Family Services Ballarat CEO – and departing President – Kevin Zibell, and Berry Street Director of Services, Ric Pawsey. An ordinary member vacancy created by Marg Hamley's retirement will be filled by the Board taking into account voting for the five unelected ordinary member candidates in the election.
Centre CEO, Dr Lynette Buoy reported on a busy year shaped by the change of State Government and the announcement last January of the Protecting Victoria's Vulnerable Children Inquiry. Dr Buoy thanked departing President, Kevin Zibell, departing Vice President Jenny Potten, the Board and Centre staff in her report on key Centre activities for 2010–2011.
A full account of the Centre's activities in 2010–2011 is available in the Centre's annual report, which is available as an online version and a PDF download.
