Reducing Violence against Women and their Children: relections on COAG summit and beyond

The first ever COAG National Summit on Reducing Violence against Women and their Children was held on October 28 in Brisbane. The purpose of the summit was to review progress and highlight best practice in government efforts to reduce violence against women and their children. The summit brought together leaders from the Commonwealth, State, Territory and local governments, experts in domestic and family violence, and leaders in the community sector and business.

Welcome Boost to Frontline Child Protection Services

The Centre welcomes the Government’s announcement today of a $5.65 million funding boost to Child FIRST and Integrated Family Services.

The funds will be provided to services around the state to meet growing demand, with a focus on developing partnerships with family violence services and responding to Aboriginal children and families experiencing violence at home.
