That’s why it is the responsibility of every organisation that provides services or facilities for children to implement Child Safe Standards into their daily practices. Child Safe Training at the Centre Since 2015, the Centre has run over 120 Child Safe Training sessions for a diverse range of organisations — from community housing providers to youth theatre groups, early childhood and kindergarten programs and more — and has worked to ensure they have the right systems in place to promote the safety and protection of children.This training is designed to help organisations meet the Victorian Government’s seven compulsory Child Safe Standards: Strategies to embed an organisational culture of child safety, including through effective leadership arrangements A child safe policy or statement of commitment to child safety A code of conduct that establishes clear expectations for appropriate behaviour with children Screening, supervision, training and other human resources practices that reduce the risk of child abuse by newand existing personnel Processes for responding to and reporting suspected child abuse Strategies to identify and reduce or remove risks of child abuse Strategies to promote the participation and empowerment of children. Get Started Reportable Conduct Scheme eLearning now available!It teaches participants about their obligations under the Reportable Conduct Scheme, and how it works to protect children from child abuse, violence and exploitation. It provides an overview of some key facts and common myths about child abuse; some common indicators of abuse, and what staff are and are not responsible for under the Reportable Conduct Scheme. The module also addresses how to understand and recognise some possible grooming behaviours, and the role that workers can play in protecting children and young people from abuse.
