Building skills in the development & implementation of Behaviour Support Plans

This workshop will provide residential care workers & other professionals with the necessary knowledge and skills participation in the development, implementation & review of Behaviour Support Plans for young people in out-of-home care. Including an Evidence-based positive behavioural framework to identify, assess & respond to behaviours of concern.
The workshop includes skills development in the implementation & review of a Behaviour Support Plan (BSP) that strengthens the necessary scaffolding for young people. The Behaviour Support Plan (BSP) is designed to ensure there is a consistent trauma-informed approach, including proactive planning that nurtures positive relationships to support and enhance their healing.
This topic will cover the following topics;
- Legislation overview
- Child development theories
- Working with diversity
- Trauma Overview
- Engaging young people to develop meaningful relationships
- Supporting & managing complex behaviours
- Building social inclusion
- The development, implementation & review of Behaviour Support Plan Victoria.
