Child Safe Standards and Reportable Conduct Scheme

The Child Safe Standards and Reportable Conduct Schemes are designed to help organisations implement policies and procedures to keep children safe from abuse and harm. Many organisations that have close contact with children fall under the scheme, and include: early Years and children’s services, schools, out-of-home-care, public health services, government departments and religious organisations.

This two hour Reportable Conduct Scheme information session is targeted at all staff, volunteers, and management of organisations.  It will include information on:

  • Background of the Scheme
  • Key elements of the Scheme
  • The Child Safe Standards
  • Reporting obligations and responsibilities of Heads of Organisations.
  • Criminal Offences
  • Reporting Obligations
  • Duty of Care

The session will include opportunities to work through case examples drawn from the Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse.
