Culturally Competent Youth Practice

This training is provided by the Centre for Multicultural Youth (CMY), exploring skills and knowledge required to effectively work with young people form migrant and refugee backgrounds.

Training is suitable for case managers, youth workers, social workers, volunteers and other front line staff as well as managers from a range of sectors including government, business, education, health, welfare, justice and sports and recreation.

 

  • Explore concepts of culture and identity
  • Explore the cultural competency framework
  • Reflect on cross-cultural interactions and communication skills
  • Identify and apply cultural competency practice strategies to support effective work with young people

 

Morning/afternoon tea facilities available; lunch provided.

We will issue a full refund if we cancel the course or reschedule the course.

Participants who withdraw more than 15 days before course commencement will receive a full refund. If you cancel less than 14 days prior to the agreed start date, we will be unable to issue a refund.

Course and name transfers may be made if vacancies exist.

If there are extenuating circumstances for your cancellation, please apply in writing, attaching any relevant documentation, such as a medical certificate. Application for special consideration does not guarantee a refund.
