Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) for the Suicidal Person/Safety Planning

An event every day that begins at 10:30 am, repeating until Wednesday June 16, 2021

This is an all day training workshop delivered in 2 parts over Zoom, including:

 

MHFA for Suicidal Person:

This training is designed to help participants identify warning signs for suicide and confidently support a person in crisis by:

  • teaching confidence in supporting a person in crisis
  • having conversations with someone experiencing suicidal thoughts and behaviours

At the completion of the course participants will be equipped with the skills and knowledge to safely help a person having suicidal thoughts.

Suicide Assessment and Planning:

This training includes more advanced suicide assessment methodology which is interesting and interactive including:

  • managing risk
  • safety planning
  • referral pathways
  • practising skills using scenarios in a safe and supportive environment.

Cancellation Policy

  • We will issue a full refund if we cancel the course or reschedule the course.
  • We require 7 working days’ notice for cancellations in writing for a full refund to be issued.
  • No refund will be issued for non-attendance.
  • We will issue a full refund if we cancel the workshop or reschedule.

The Centre for Excellence reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a workshop if there is not a minimum of 10 participants registered 15 days prior to the scheduled date.
