Learning System Grant World Café and OPEN Portal launch with Minister Donnellan

Join us to hear from organisations that shared in $800,000 funding for the 2018 Learning System Grant (LSG) projects, learn more about the next round of funding for 2019 and join Minister Luke Donnellan and Centre CEO, Deb Tsorbaris in launching the OPEN portal!

The LSGs are all about sharing new knowledge across the sector. Learn how colleagues have partnered with researchers to develop innovative approaches, evaluate initiatives and improve practice through data and outcomes measurement. Hear from:

  • VACCA on the evidence emerging from the participatory evaluation of their Narrun Yana Art Collective which supports young Aboriginal people transitioning from out-of-home care to independent living
  • Mallee District Aboriginal Services (MDAS) on a staff-led participatory action research project
  • Bendigo Community Health Services and Griffith University on using implementation science to monitor the impact of the Parents Under Pressure (PuP)
  • Kids First and Melbourne University on the emerging findings from their evaluation of their adaptation of Mothers in Mind, Children and Mothers in Mind a program for mothers and children who have had hurtful experiences such as family violence, childhood abuse or sexual assault.
  • Tweddle Child and Family Health Service and Murdoch Children’s Research Institute on the findings from the evaluation of Tweddle’s Working Out Dads, group-based program for new fathers that aims to reduce fathers’ mental health difficulties and strengthen family relationships.
  • Mackillop Family Services and Melbourne University on their learning from the action research project to develop evidence-informed initiatives to prevent harmful sexual behaviour and child sexual exploitation in residential care
  • Windermere Child and Family Services and the Parenting Research Centre on what they have learnt from their significant re-design project to reframe case management from service coordination to adult capacity building.  And more!
