This training is focused on hearing children’s experiences of family violence and developing ways to assess and support children.

  • The Brain Architecture Game
  • Understanding trauma and the impacts on children
  • Assessing and responding to children
  • Resources available to support working with children
  • Understanding of the challenge’s parents face in hearing the experience of their child.

This training is best geared towards practitioners who are new to working with children and families, new to family violence/trauma and who are not qualified child specialist practitioners.

Learning Outcomes:

Practitioners will

  • understand the need for assessing and supporting children as clients in their own right
  • have some tools and resources to assess and support children and their parent/carer
  • enjoy a day of play, learning and no role plays.

This training is best geared towards practitioners who are new to working with children and families, new to family violence/trauma and who are  not qualified child specialist practitioners.
