Diploma of Leadership and Management (BSB50420)

The BSB50420 Diploma of Leadership and Management equips you with the skills, confidence, and expertise to inspire, engage, and lead the way in your workplace.

Designed to address the unique challenges of the child, youth, and family services sector, the Diploma strengthens leadership and management capabilities, fostering the ability to innovate, problem-solve, and create lasting impact.

Through the program, participants develop proactive leadership skills, sound judgment in planning and organisation, and effective communication and self-management strategies. The course also provides practical tools to design, implement, and evaluate solutions to emerging challenges while enhancing the ability to analyse complex information from diverse sources.

Manage Personal and Professional Development (BSBPEF501)

This unit will equip participants with the skills and knowledge required to implement systems and process that support the personal and professional development of self and others.

Develop and Use Emotional Intelligence (BSBPEF502)

This unit will equip participants with the skills and knowledge required to develop and use emotional intelligence to increase self-awareness, self-management, social awareness and relationship management in the workplace

Develop Critical Thinking in Others (BSBCRT511)

This unit will equip participants with the skills and knowledge required to develop critical and creative thinking skills in others within a workplace context.

Facilitate Continuous Improvement (BSBSTR502)

This unit will equip participants with the skills and knowledge required to lead and manage continuous improvement systems and processes. Particular emphasis is on the development of systems and the analysis of information to monitor and adjust performance strategies, and to manage opportunities for further improvements.

Manage Business Operational Plans (BSBOPS502)

This unit will equip participants with the skills and knowledge required to develop and monitor the implementation of operational plans to support efficient and effective workplace practices and organisational productivity and profitability.

Manage Organisational Customer Service (BSBOPS505)

This unit will equip participants with the skills and knowledge required to develop strategies to manage organisational systems that ensure products and services are delivered and maintained to standards agreed by the organisation.

Manage Business Risk (BSBOPS504)

This unit will equip participants with the skills and knowledge required to manage business risks in a range of contexts across an organisation or for a specific business unit or area in any industry setting.

Manage Budgets and Financial Plans (BSBFIN501)

This unit will equip participants with the skills and knowledge required to undertake financial management in an organisation or work area. It includes planning and implementing financial management approaches and supporting and evaluating effectiveness of financial management processes.

This unit will equip participants with the skills and knowledge required to manage the performance of staff that are direct reports.

This unit will equip participants with the skills and knowledge required to lead teams in the workplace and to actively engage with the management of the organisation.
