Code of Ethical Conduct

All members of the Centre have an obligation to contribute to the reputation of the sector by:

  • Committing to the provision of high quality services and standards in a manner that increases the wellbeing of all children, young people and their families.
  • Providing an appropriate level of service to all children, young people and families regardless of gender, race, nationality, religion, belief or culture.
  • Treating all children, young people and families with respect, dignity, confidentiality, warmth and friendship.
  • Complying with all legal and statutory requirements and if issues requiring attention are identified, to act quickly to rectify the issue of concern.
  • Pursuing continuous improvement through all facets of service delivery.
  • Managing their organisation in a manner that promotes the integrity of the children, young people and family services sector.
  • Keeping up to date with contemporary business practices to enable the efficient delivery of quality outcomes.
  • Supporting the Centre in its role as the voice of the membership as the most effective channel for advocacy on behalf of the sector to government, by commenting on and providing feedback on various issues, as requested by the Centre from time to time.
  • Advising the Centre of any known issues that may hinder or affect a member’s capacity to provide quality services and/or attract media comment or coverage.
  • Work collaboratively with the Centre and other members to share experience, data and innovative ideas to support cooperative planning for an integrated service system.
  • Engage in ethical and accountable negotiation with any funding body or other community service organisations.

Membership Applications

  • I declare that the information provided in my Membership Application is true and correct.
  • I also understand that in the event of this application being accepted by the Centre for Excellence in Child and Family Welfare, I have a responsibility to promptly inform the Centre of any changes of details of information provided.
  • If accepted, I agree to be bound by the Centre’s Constitution and Code of Ethical Conduct.
