The Home Stretch Campaign The Home Stretch Campaign In Victoria, young people in out-of-home care are cut off at just 18 years old. For most, there’s no more case worker. No ongoing support. Nothing. Within a year, most will be unemployed, homeless, pregnant, or go to jail. Home Stretch is the campaign calling for the age of out-of-home care to be extended from 18 to optional 21-years. The United States, United Kingdom, New Zealand and Canada, rather than cutting foster care off at 18-years, have extended it to an optional 21-years. Why? The evidence is overwhelming, extending care works. Support our campaign by signing up on our website.
