Engaging and talking with young people who have experienced trauma – Module 1

At the end of Module One, participants will understand:

  • Key concepts  (adolescent development, trauma (simple and complex), developmental trauma, relational trauma)
  • the relationship between trauma and adolescent development;
  • the impacts of trauma;
  • the connection between attachment and trauma;
  • the relationship between a child’s experience of family violence and trauma;
  • principles of trauma informed practice;
  • barriers to engaging with adolescents who have experienced trauma.
