Minister Mikakos Announces Significant Investment in Vulnerable Children in Out of Home Care

Deb Tsorbaris, CEO, today warmly welcomed the State Government’s $19 million package of improved funding for homes and services that provide care for highly vulnerable children and young people.

“This funding will replace the current outdated residential care model and provide improved levels of staffing and support. No longer will residential care staff have to face difficult choices. With these new resources we will be better able to meet the day to day and competing demands of the children such as their critical health needs, getting children to school and being able to reconcile children with their families” said Ms. Tsorbaris.
