Beyond Good Intentions – forum

On Friday 21 June the Centre – together with VCOSS, MacKillop, Berry Street and VACCA – is hosting a workshop to plan process to support the developments of Aboriginal approaches – and control of – child welfare.

The workshop aims to:

  • Build awareness of current principles supporting these matters, and share details of what is happening other jurisdictions.
  • Share examples of child and family welfare services and Aboriginal controlled organisations working together.
  • Explore the potential for an agreement or protocol to embed principles for working together.

Presenters will include Muriel Bamblett (VACCA), Julian Pocock (Berry Street), Angela Singh (Office of Aboriginal Affairs Victoria), Frank Hytten (SNAICC) and Bill Pritchard (former CEO of AbSec & Deputy Chairperson of SNAICC).
