Foster Care Futures

Foster Care Week provides the perfect occasion to discuss the future of foster care in Australia, so we hope you can join us on Wednesday 11th September for the Centre’s Foster Care Futures policy breakfast.
Professor Marilyn McHugh from the University of New South Wales will deliver an update on developments within each Australian jurisdiction, followed by a panel discussion containing some of our nation’s leading foster care experts.
The breakfast will provide opportunity to discuss a range of issues, including national foster care payments, professional foster care, superannuation for foster carers, national approaches to working with children checks, the role of foster care in the National Child Protection Framework and Strategy, and much more.
Join a group of policy makers, academics and program designers from both government and the community sector to discuss the future of foster care.
Our expert panel will be announced in the coming fortnight.
RSVP to Suzanne Twigg on 9614 1774 or email suzanne.twigg@cfecfw.asn.au. Details and a registration form are attached.
