Introducing The Platform

The Platform

The invitation for The Platform is attached and some more information for you to share with your youth advocacy groups. The launch is on Wednesday 1st April at 4PM.

CREATE Uniting Young People’s Voices in Care

In a nut shell, The platform is a space where young people with an Out of Home care background who are either a part of leadership/youth advocacy groups, or are not yet a part of one, however, have a keen interest in networking with those who are, can meet with a clear focus of sharing knowledge, skills and ideas to collectively advocate for the change that these groups would like to see within the Child Protection system.

CREATE, are using our existing networks with the Centre for Excellence, Ministers and Commissioners to give members of The Platform a number of avenues to create change on a larger scale. There will be two worker training session through the Centre for Excellence each year, facilitated by Young People, as well as two “Hour of Power” sessions with Commissioners and Ministers where the sole focus is for the Platform to share the key issues for children and young people who have lived in Out of home Care. There will also be a space where the professionals supporting the young people can network and explore how best to develop their youth advisory group.
