‘Peeling back the layers – kinship care in Victoria’ Research Report Launch

The Centre for Excellence in Child and Family Welfare in partnership with Baptcare invites you to attend ‘Peeling back the layers – kinship care in Victoria’ Research Report Launch.

Baptcare, OzChild and Anchor are kinship care service providers in Victoria that have identified increasing complexity in statutory kinship placements. They are concerned about the adequacy and capacity of the existing kinship care service model in Victoria to properly address this increased level of complexity. The measure of complexity may include any one, or a combination of, issues relating to the child, carer or the family. They include substantial problems in the domains of health, emotional disturbance, social interaction, familial tensions and conflict, and financial difficulties.

Speakers include:

Bernie Gearie, Victorian Commissioner for Children and Young People

Professor Marie Connolly, Chair & Head of Social Work of School of Health Services

Date: Friday 10 October 2014, 10.00 a.m. – 12.00 p.m. (Registrations from 9.30 a.m.)
