Finalists announced for Victorian Protecting Children Awards

Finalists have been announced for the 2023 Victorian Protecting Children Awards, recognising those who make exceptional efforts to make a positive difference for children, young people, and families across Victoria.

Nominations recognising the remarkable passion and efforts of the child and family services sector, child protection, government and academic organisations, and foster, kinship and permanent carers, volunteers, and community.

The Awards include The Centre’s Leaving a Legacy Award, which recognises the people who have made a significant contribution to the child, youth, and family services sector throughout their career as well as making an impact on their local community.

‘Leaving a Legacy’ acknowledges those who have positively contributed to the sector and whose remarkable achievements should be highlighted.

Previous Leaving and Legacy Award winners include Gerard Jones (2022)  and Luke Rumbold (2021).

On the 20th anniversary of these prestigious awards, a recording-breaking number of 124 nominations were received.

Winners will be announced at the 2023 Victorian Protecting Children Awards ceremony on Tuesday 5 September, during Child Protection Week.
