NDIS Issues Paper

Together with National Disability Services and Early Childhood Intervention Australia, the Centre has contributed to a forum and issues paper for the National Disability Insurance Scheme.

The issues paper summarises key themes from the forum that took place in November 2012, including:

  • support for NDIS
  • need to retain family focus and trans-disciplinary collaboration
  • empowerment of families
  • Choice
  • outcomes and evidence
  • inclusion and universal services
  • appropriate expertise / workforce
  • transitions
  • safeguards and Quality Standards
  • funding, accountability and monitoring
  • cohorts with particular needs

It is expected that this paper will inform stakeholders contributing to the development of the NDIS.

The issues paper is available online here.
