GOVERNMENT’S ROADMAP TO REFORM OFFERS NEW WAY FORWARD FOR VULNERABLE CHILDREN

The Centre for Excellence in Child and Family Welfare welcomes the Government’s Roadmap for Reform: strong families, safe children which offers a new way forward in terms of protecting children at risk and supporting families under pressure.

“Today, Minister Mikakos signalled her Government’s strong focus on keeping families strong and children safe and happy through early intervention and prevention strategies, as well as boosting support for Aboriginal children and families,” CEO Deb Tsorbaris said.

EARLY SUPPORT FOR FAMILIES IN GOVERNMENT’S ROADMAP WILL KEEP KIDS SAFER

The Centre for Excellence in Child and Family Welfare welcomes today’s funding announcement and congratulates the Andrews Government on moving quickly to implement the first tranche of Royal Commission into Family Violence recommendations.

“The commitment announced by the Government today is a great start.  There is now an enormous amount of work ahead of us if we are to better protect vulnerable children and allow them to thrive,” CEO Deb Tsorbaris said today.

The Centre for Excellence acknowledges the Tradition Custodians of the land on which we work, the Wurundjeri people of the Kulin Nations and pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging. Sovereignty has never been ceded and this was and always will be Aboriginal land.
We appreciate and celebrate diversity in all its forms. We believe diversity of all kinds makes our teams, services and organisation stronger and more effective.
